About the Artist

My name is Calvin Filer and I grew up in central Wisconsin fishing for anything that swam, and I've spent my whole life looking for the next fishery to explore. While fishing has always been my passion, artwork was always something I enjoyed doing. I loved experimenting with different styles and mediums. In art class during high school, all I wanted to do was paint fish, and I still feel the same way today. I started out by giving pieces to close friends that I worked with over the summers, and over the last year or two I have committed to becoming a better artist. I'm also a fly fishing guide in Wyoming and I really enjoy all the connections that I've made within the industry. Between fishing, artwork, and fly tying, I usually stay pretty busy - even during the winter months when Youtube in the closest thing I get to actually being on the water.
